Lightheaded Bed Review & A GIVEAWAY

I have not been this excited over a product in a LONG time but Lightheaded Beds is a product and company one can easily get excited about.  I recently had the opportunity to review one of these wonderful beds and the company was generous enough to offer one to be given away to one of my wonderful followers.  How amazing is that?

We ordered the Lightheaded Bed through Walmart.com which is one of the company's third party retailers.  It was easy to maneuver around the sight and they had a nice selection of the Lightheaded Beds to choose from.  We finally decided on the "Shaker" model with the "Frozen" Headlightz image.  We placed our order online and received the bed via Fed-ex exactly one week later.  The bed arrived in 2 boxes.  You will need help maneuvering the boxes (one weighed over 80 pounds and the other was almost 40 pounds).

Once we got the boxes inside, it was time for my hubby to put it all together.   The box that was the heaviest had the headboard, foot board and other components.

The other box was lighter but very long and held the rails and slats.

The parts were packaged well to insure nothing moved around and got scratched up.

They even had the paper work tied together in the box to be sure they would not get lost and to be sure the hardware did not come loose and scratch anything up.  We thought that was a nice touch.

My hubby carefully removed the headboard and I really loved the deep rich color of the wood.  It was quite heavy and beautiful.  The dolphin headlight image came with the kit and the "Frozen" image was sent in a separate delivery that we got just a few days before.

Every tool required to assemble the bed, was included in the box.  The first thing my husband did was attached the legs to the headboard with an Allen wrench (that was included).

The bed is so easy to put together that my husband was able to do it by himself; even putting the railing into the slots he could alone.

Once he had the headboard attached to the foot board with the rails, it was time to lay down the slats.  He removed the slats from the box and the slats were all attached together.  Click on the video to see how easily he laid them out.

As you can see, there are plenty of slats so a box springs really isn't needed with the bed.  We plan on using just a mattress instead.    My husband said it was one of the easiest beds to put together.  I did not tell him I was going to time him but I did.  From start-to-finish, it took him exactly 30 minutes to put the bed together.  Pretty quick!

We couldn't wait for the mattress to be put on before trying out the lighted headboard.  The bed comes with a remote to access the lighting and it has several different features.

With the remote, you can turn the light panel off or on; adjust the brightness and set the timer on the light.  If your child likes to read before bed, put it on the bright setting and set the timer for an hour (for example), after that time, the light will turn itself off or have it dim to a nightlight setting or fade off.

The video below shows you how it looks going from one setting to another.  Isn't it great?

The images in the light panel are interchangeable.  As mentioned before, the bed came with the "dolphin" image and the "Frozen" image but you can also go to the Lightheaded Beds webpage and order from their huge selection any number of Headlightz Images.  My son is a huge fan of Marvel's Avengers so we ordered an extra image for his bed.   The extra Headlightz images can be stored in the built in compartment of the foot board for easy storage.

Store them in the foot board and when your child wants to change images, just remove one and replace it into the headboard.  Just raise the lid; slide out the old image and remove; slide in the new image and close the lid.  It really is that simple.

I have two sons (10 & 17) and both like the bed.  In fact, they are taking turns sleeping in it.  Ronny got it the first night and then Bub got to sleep in it the next night.  We got the bed for Ronny so I'm sure that will be the one and only time he lets big brother sleep in it.  I snuck in and took some pictures of both of them enjoying the bed.

As  you can see, we are really pleased with the Lightheaded Bed but don't take my word for it, hear it for yourself from Ronny.

If you can't wait to see if you won, just go ahead and purchase one today.  Use the code (LHBLCH)in the picture but hurry, this special offer ends on June 6, 2015.

First Campout of the Year

This past Saturday, we did an overnight camp out.  We didn't travel, we just went to our camping spot on the property.  It's far enough from the house to feel legit and close enough to get anything I should forget.  My husband's best friend and his young son came and camped out with us.  We had a good time with lots of laughs and good conversations.
